Music from Clean Week

Clean Week here at St. Tikhon’s was beautiful and exhausting.  We seminarians kept the monastic schedule, beginning services at 6am and wrapping up around 6pm or so.  We had a break for a few hours around lunch time each day.

The music we sang that week was moving, from the various compositions of the Canon of St. Andrew to the normal, everyday songs.  I’ve posted here several selections from our services in case any readers are interested.  The choir was directed by Benedict Sheehan and Paul Kappanadze.

These recordings are not professional by any degree.  I have a small digital recorder that I sometimes held in my hand and other times set on a nearby surface.  So, the levels are uneven, there’s noise from people walking around or coughing, and noise from some of the seventy-five kids in our community.
